Yes, Seimei is a sickening and twisted character, but how one can not love him? Even if he have the worst of the intentions he is a badass motherfucker. He’s amazing.

30 years later, you can carry all of this in your pocket.

Perspective.

This post basically sums up everything I love about scientific and technological progress.
I was actually thinking about this (again) last week. A friend bought a house-boat and we sailed (motored?) it up to Seattle. The boat’s dashboard made it quite identifiable as a product of the 80s, though still a nice boat. Anyways, there was a cigarette lighter next to the dash. My friend plugged in his smart-phone and voila! We no longer needed maps, no longer had to panic about whether the radio works, and we could even stream some chill tunes to the boat’s built in speaker system. We had upgraded an already impressive piece of technology with a small device which, during the 80s, was entirely science fiction. It felt like a scene from a movie about aliens or time-travel. In other words, totally awesome.
